Biodiversity

Evolution of deep biosphere diversity and activity with time

The objective of this work package is to unravel the deep biosphere diversity and activity in one of the highest lakes ever drilled on Earth and to determine the environmental factors influencing this subsurface microbial communities. The final goal is here to disentangle climatic (primary signal) and diagenetic (secondary signal) imprint on paleoenvironmental proxies provided by the sedimentary archives of Nam Co.
